My name is Rob Nicholson. I'm a York based RGT@LCM registered Electric and Acoustic guitarist with over 15 years of playing experience. I have also recently developed an interest in the Ukulele. I am passionate about guitar and music in general and I am a big fan of various styles of music, ranging from Progressive Rock and Metal to Jazz, Blues, Electronic and Classical.

I have a good understanding of music theory and various techniques including slide, fingerstyle, legato, alternate picking and flatpicking. I have taken a number of exams through RGT@LCM and have achieved a distinction at grade 6 Acoustic guitar and a distinction at grade 8 Electric guitar. I specialise in Rock and Metal styles but I am knowledgeable about Jazz, Blues and Popular styles. I also teach Ukulele at beginner level.

I charge £22 an hour for a lesson on Electric or Acoustic guitar and Ukulele, and the first lesson is free of charge. I have an Enhanced DBS check certificate and I am happy to teach children from the age of 10 and adults of all ages. Whether you are wanting to learn to play for fun or looking to take grades and learn the in's and out's of guitar and music theory, I possess the knowledge and skills to get you there.

NOTE: I also offer online lessons during the COVID-19 pandemic, these are still charged at the same rate as face to face lessons.
